I strive to give clients a sense of freedom so that they may share their uniqueness with the world

[Meg] brings an overflowing tool kit of techniques and knowledge about the voice and body and uses them creatively and effectively to help her students produce their best sounds.
— Carrie, current student

I believe that teaching voice should be a collaborative effort between the teacher and student and that open lines of communication are key. Studying singing takes great vulnerability as it is partially a study of oneself. I do not take that lightly and strive to find the balance of honoring each student as they are today, while simultaneously pushing them to grow into their potential. I strive to establish an environment that feels safe for the student; wherein they may take risks and make experimental sounds in an effort to better know themselves and their instrument. I ask my students many questions about what they feel as they sing so that they may be curious in their own practice and take ownership of their singing. I believe that singing is a full body experience and use tools such as yoga to help students gain full body awareness and freedom.

I work to continue my own education and performing career so as to stay current in ways that I can assist my students. I believe that communicating with my colleagues and working as a team is another great resource for my students. I have taught privately for over a decade through my own private studio as well as the University of Delaware, Musical Theatre College Auditions, University of Delaware Community Music School, Highbridge Voices, and Belle-Arti Center for the Arts. Walking with a student on their vocal journey is truly a privilege. Helping a student to a vocal breakthrough or to a light bulb moment is one of the best feelings. I seek to give others a sense of freedom so that they may share their uniqueness with the world, whether that be their unique story, personality, or voice. I am a member of NATS and OperaAmerica. I recently completed a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and am so excited to bring what I’ve learned into voice lessons!

Currently, I am accepting students from everywhere, as all lessons will be taught online.
